Deputy Minister of Local Government Development Officiates REHDA Institute Digital Resource Centre
June 2023 – YB Tuan Haji Akmal Nasrullah, Deputy Minister for Local Government Development officiated 
the REHDA Institute Digital Resource Centre at Wisma REHDA Kelana Jaya this evening, which was witnessed by more than 120 industry captains and stakeholders.
REHDA Institute is the training, research and education Institute for more than 1600 corporate REHDA developer members and is led by Chairman, Dato’ Jeffrey Ng Tiong Lip. REHDA Institute is governed by an independent board of trustees and was re-launched in 2004 by former Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi witnessed by former Prime Minister Tun Mahathir Mohamed with many industry stakeholders.
The newly launched REHDA Institute Digital Resource Centre which is provisionally GreenRE Certified Gold, aims to promote sustainability and become a research & development (R&D) knowledge centre in Malaysia for all matters relating to housing and real estate in Malaysia, where government authority stakeholders, REHDA Members and Universities could also engage with on matters relating to housing research. The REHDA Institute Digital Resource Centre is co-sponsored by PropertyGuru, Feruni, Inovar Flooring, Signature and CLJ Law.
During the official launch ceremony, the Deputy Minister was accompanied by Dato’ Jeffrey Ng Tiong Lip (REHDA Institute Chairman), Datuk NK Tong (REHDA President) and also Trustees of REHDA Institute (Tan Sri Datuk Eddy Chen, Tan Sri Dato Teo Chiang Kok, Datuk Ng Seing Liong, Datuk Muztaza Mohamad, Mr Tiah Toh Twin) and also Datuk Ho Hon Sang (REHDA Deputy President).
REHDA Institute currently runs the Masters in Real Estate Development (MRED) in partnership with University Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) and also certification programmes with Monash University Malaysia (on Digital Marketing Transformation Initiative) and Property Development Process Masterclass with Sunway University.
To encourage and improve the overall skill knowledge of the housing industry, REHDA Group offers scholarships for the MRED programme for REHDA Member company staff working in the property development industry, in addition to 2 open MRED Scholarships by REHDA Institute and PropertyGuru Group.
Through industry partnerships with top companies in Malaysia such as Progressture Solar, Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad (BPMB) and also collaboration with companies such as Sime Darby, Matrix Concept, IJM Land, IOI Properties, PR1MA and GreenRE, REHDA Institute will be developing unique industry relevant research papers to improve the housing industry in Malaysia.
To provide better practical research insights, REHDA Institute will also be planning international study tours with emphasis on best affordable housing practices, sustainable developments and best industrial parks to cities such as Jakarta & Nusantara in Indonesia, Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam and key cities in China in the near future.
