Kuala Lumpur, 26 July 2023 – To stay at the forefront of the green living trend, Taiwan Excellence once again participated in the Malaysia International Architecture, Interior Design, and Building Materials Exhibition (ARCHIDEX) from July 26th to 29th. The Taiwan Excellence Pavilion was jointly organized by the Bureau of Foreign Trade and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), featuring 10 award-winning Taiwanese companies in the smart home living and building materials sectors. A total of 17 Taiwan-developed carbon-reducing, energy-saving green building materials, and intelligent living applications were showcased during the event.

Taiwan Excellence represents the epitome of innovation in Taiwanese industries, with award-winning products that demonstrate innovative value in R&D, design, quality, and marketing. Some of the featured products include Innolux’s “Smart Dimming LC Window,” which automatically adjusts lighting to significantly reduce building energy consumption; San Jeou Building Material’s newly developed “Auto Flood Barrier Shutter”, which combines anti-theft and waterproof functions; and BenQ Materials’ “PDLC Smart Optical Film,” which blocks heat and ultraviolet light to combat urban heat waves.

In the field of interior design and smart homes, Taiwan Excellence invited three companies that previously received the ARCHIDEX Star Awards to showcase their latest products: YZTEK’s “e+Autoff” stove safety device, JLA’s “Touch-Free Easy Installation Sensor Flush Kit”, and Medusa’s “i-WaterProof” liquid type additives. Additionally, JUSTIME’s “Kitchen Faucet with Pull Out Sprayer”, AWA’s “Robin RO Kitchen Mixer”, ALASKA’s “M8 Mini Anti-Bacterial Circulator,” and FECA’s “Laundry Net Set with Lid” have all received favorable attention and inquiries from visitors.

James Chang, Director of the Economic Division at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia, stated that Malaysia is a key focus of Taiwan’s New Southbound Policy, Taiwan holds significant importance as a trading and investment partner for Malaysia. This year, the Taiwan Excellence Pavilion at ARCHIDEX is built around the concept of “Connect. Cultivate. Consolidate,” introducing Taiwan’s green living approach to Malaysian audiences throughout the four-day exhibition. It aims to establish connections between the interior design and architectural business networks of Taiwan and Malaysia, nurturing emerging stars in the industry, while also showcasing creative ideas.

Eva Peng, Director of the Taiwan Trade Center Kuala Lumpur, expressed that for the first time, Taiwan Excellence collaborated with the Architecture Department of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and the Architecture and Sustainable Design Department of Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) to host the “Sustainable Innovation Challenge”. Participants utilized Taiwan Excellence products to exercise innovative thinking and address local sustainability issues. The highly anticipated finals are scheduled for July 28th, with the involvement of the Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM), the Malaysia Green Building Council (MGBC), and the Building Materials Distributors Association of Malaysia (BMDAM) participating in evaluating and selecting the most forward-thinking design concepts. This event aims to foster networking opportunities within the Taiwan-Malaysia architectural and interior design industry.

The ARCHIDEX is the most influential and extensive comprehensive building materials exhibition in Southeast Asia, providing a crucial platform for Taiwan’s building material industry to expand its reputation and cooperation opportunities in the Southeast Asian market. This year’s Taiwan Excellence Pavilion is showcasing at booth 2L178 in the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from July 26th to July 29th, demonstrating the abundant innovative energy that Taiwan Excellence brings to life.
